Mario Marengo Barolo Bricco delle Viole

A Barolo from the Bricco delle Viole cru, made from Nebbiolo. The vineyard is noted for its particular exposure and soil rich in calcareous marl, which give the wine elegance and aromatic depth. It shows a bright garnet red colour, tending towards orange with age. The nose is intense and complex, with ripe red fruits such as cherry and raspberry, enriched by rose, violet, spice, tobacco and a light touch of leather. On the palate it is solid yet elegant, with fine but persistent tannins integrated with typical Nebbiolo acidity, and a long, persistent finish with floral, fruity and mineral notes.
