Mars Iwai Tradition Blended Whisky (75cl, 40%)

Mars Iwai Tradition is a Japanese blended whisky, made from 25% corn whisky and 75% malt whisky, bottled at 40% in a 750ml bottle. It was matured in a combination of bourbon, sherry and American white oak casks, which give a rich, full-bodied finish. It comes from the Shinshu distillery, known as Mars, founded in 1985 by Hombo Shuzo on the island of Kyushu, where distilling takes place only through the harsh winters. Rich gold in colour, it has a nose of sweet honey and malt. Tasting notes mention burnt sugar cane, sweet peat, orange marmalade, cedar and cigar.
