Iwai Tradition is a Japanese blend from Mars Komagatake in Nagano, in a 75cl bottle at 40% ABV. It is malt-led, made from malted barley and corn, with the barley double distilled in copper pot stills.
The whisky is matured mainly in bourbon and sherry casks and carries no age statement. It is lightly peated.
The nose offers clove, wildflower honey and a little earthy peat. Nougat and milk chocolate lead the palate, and cinnamon joins the chocolate in the finish.
