Mars Whisky The Lucky Cat Double Individuals "May & Hana" is the tenth edition of a Hombo Shuzo series built around the cats that live at the distillery. It is the first to pair two cats who had each appeared alone, May in the fourth edition and Hana in the fifth.
The blend of malt and grain whisky is lightly peated, with double-distilled malt from Mars Komagatake Distillery in Nagano. May is represented by Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and Hana by port wine casks. It is limited to 10,000 bottles of 70cl at 43% ABV, non-chill filtered and without added colouring.
The nose brings cherry cola, milk chocolate, raisins, caramel and vanilla. The palate is rich, with chocolate, baking spice, raisins, stewed apricot and ripe berries.
