Mars Single Malt Komagatake (70cl, 45%)

Mars Single Malt Komagatake is a Japanese single malt from the Mars Komagatake Distillery in Nagano, produced by Hombo Shuzo. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 45% ABV. The whisky is matured in a mix of ex-bourbon barrels and sherry, port and wine casks. The distillery stands at the foot of Mt. Komagatake in the Central Alps, where granite-filtered snowmelt water and cool mountain air are part of the setting. The tasting notes describe apple tea, apricot and ripe persimmon on the nose, with a smooth texture and a lingering finish.
