This is a Japanese blended whisky from Shinshu Mars, produced by Hombo Shuzo and bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It is named after Kiichiro Iwai, who played an important part in the early years of distilling at Hombo Shuzo. The whisky is finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
The nose combines dried fruits, especially raisins, with maple syrup and toffee. The palate has dark fruits and a creamy texture, with oak and spice. The finish is long, balancing sweetness with a subtle dryness and a trace of dried fruit.
