Mars Iwai Wine Cask Finish

Iwai Wine Cask Finish is a Japanese whisky from Mars Shinshu, the independent alpine distillery owned by the Hombo family. It is built on the distillery's Tradition whisky, which has a high malt content. This batch was finished for just over a year in ex-red wine casks from the family's own estate. The wine comes through in notes of wild summer berries, dark honey and poached stone fruits, while the malty, rich core carries vanilla, pepper and nutmeg.
