Mars Komagatake 2021 (70cl, 48%)

Mars Komagatake 2021 is a Japanese single malt from the Shinshu distillery, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery stands by Komagatake, the highest mountain in the Japanese Alps, which gives the whisky its name and supplies the clear spring water used there. For this 2021 edition the whisky was made at Shinshu and the casks also matured at an altitude of almost 800 metres. The nose offers quince, apricot, banana and creamy vanilla. On the palate come honey and hazelnut from the sherry casks, with a soft melon sweetness. The finish is soft, round and elegant.
