Mars The Revival 2011 Komagatake Single Malt (70cl, 58%)

This is a 3 year old single malt from Shinshu Mars, released in 2011 in an edition of 6,000 bottles. It celebrates the revival of the distillery at Komagatake and marks the restart of whisky production there in 2007. It is bottled at 58% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whisky is slightly peated, with a phenol level of 8 ppm. The nose is fresh vanilla and caramel. The palate brings sweet vanilla and caramel with a range of spices, and the finish carries a subtle hint of smoke.
