Mars The Y.A. #2 Peated (70cl, 49%)

Mars The Y.A. #2 Peated is a Japanese blended malt that brings together peated single malts from the Shinshu and Tsunuki distilleries. It is the peated version of the Y.A. series, which draws on three Mars sites. The whisky matures on the tropical island of Yakushima, where humidity and warmth shape it. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The nose opens with mandarin, peach and banana, then sea air, vanilla and soft white smoke. On the palate the tropical fruit is dense, with gentle smoke of around 15 ppm and a mineral, salty freshness. The finish is long, oily and rich.
