A single cask Japanese single malt from Mars, distilled in 2017 and bottled in 2023 at 57% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It comes from sherry hogshead number 2122 and filled 251 bottles.
The release is the flagship of the New Vibrations series, in which four single casks were bottled. The whisky is thick and almost oily, with sherry sweetness set against delicate campfire smoke at 20 ppm.
The nose is lightly sweet, with baked apple, cinnamon and wood. The palate is soft, with baked apple, cinnamon, delicate wood, light sherry peat and graphite. The finish is long, with peat, graphite, plenty of sherry and pepper.
