Martell XO Cognac (75cl)

Martell XO is a cognac in the house's arch-shaped bottle, blended from eaux-de-vie of the Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne and Borderies growing areas. Grande Champagne and Petite eaux-de-vie make up most of the blend, with Borderies providing the rest. The spirit is aged in French Tronçais oak barrels, for up to thirty five years in the oldest components. The result is golden amber with copper and mahogany highlights. The nose combines black pepper, coriander and red berries with fig chutney, almonds, walnuts, beeswax and sandalwood. The palate is rounded and fruity, with fig and walnut, and the power of Grande Champagne leads to a long, silken finish. It suits drinking neat or with a splash of water.
