Masterson's 10 Year Old is a straight rye whisky made from 100% rye grain, bottled at 45% in a 750ml bottle. It was distilled in copper pot stills at Alberta Distillers in Calgary and aged for ten years in new charred American oak.
35 Maple Street Distillery in Sonoma County, California, selected the casks and bottled the whisky with no further finishing or blending.
The nose brings granola, creamed cherry, caramel, maple and butterscotch, with white pepper. On the palate are warm grains and oatmeal cookies, rye spice, maple-almond sweetness and a bitter edge of rye bread, leather and tobacco. The finish is fresh and moderately long, with leather, charry oak, cocoa and a drying rye bitterness.
