Mc Peat 'Lagaland' is a 10 year old Islay single malt from House of McCallum, bottled at 46.2% abv. It is a special edition marking the anniversary of Scottish independence and the Declaration of Arbroath, with 700 bottles filled. The label and box show the declaration. The whisky comes from an Islay distillery, which the name Lagaland may hint at. The nose brings intense maritime smoke, like tarred ship planks and smoked bacon, with citrus and sweet vanilla. The palate is complex, balancing smoke and sweetness with citrus, sea salt and sharp spice. The finish is long and smoky, with citrus, vanilla and aniseed, recalling a beach campfire.
