Mezan Jamaica 2006 Single Cask 16 Year Old Rum (70cl, 59.8%)

A Jamaican aged rum from Worthy Park, distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2022 after 16 years. It is made solely from molasses, fermented with the distillery's own yeast strains and double distilled in a Forsyth copper pot still. The rum is unsweetened, uncoloured and unchillfiltered, with European ageing, and the release is limited to 260 bottles. On the nose it is rich, with flambéed banana, overripe Jamaican pineapple, cocoa notes, pepper and tropical spices, showing a higher ester content. The finish is long, fiery and elegantly rounded.
