Michter's 10 Year Old Single Barrel Rye

Michter's 10 Year Single Barrel Rye is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey, bottled from single barrels after ten years of ageing. It returned in April 2014 after an absence from the market of nearly three years. The brand, originally known as Shenks, describes it as a continuation of America's first whiskey variety. The nose is nutty and mocha-like, with walnut, new leather, flax and a touch of soft cheese emerging with air. Honeyed sweetness opens the palate before it turns drier and woodier, and the finish is vanilla-sweet and honeyed.
