A 20-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon from Michter's, matured in new charred American oak. It is not an annual release: it appears only when the Master Distiller, Dan McKee, and the Master of Maturation, Andrea Wilson, decide the barrels are ready. This 2019 release was approved by both.
The nose offers dried fruit, concentrated caramel, dark chocolate, toasted oak and warm spice. The palate is full-bodied and silky, with toffee, dark cherry, leather and oak tannins. The finish is long, with spice, oak and dark fruit fading slowly to a warm close.
