Michter's 25 Year Old is a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 750ml bottle, bottled at 58.05% ABV (116.1 proof). This is the 2020 release, and it spent 25 years in new charred American oak. Michter's releases it only when Master Distiller Dan McKee and Distillery Director of Maturation Andrea Wilson judge the barrels ready, not on an annual schedule.
The nose is aged oak resin, dark caramel, tobacco leaf, dried dark fruit, cocoa and slow vanilla. The palate has dark toffee, espresso, dried cherries, leather and cinnamon. The finish is very long, with dark dried fruit, charred oak, bitter chocolate and warm spice.
