Michter's – Barrel Strength Limited Release Straight Rye Whiskey (75cl, 42.4%)

Michter's Barrel Strength Straight Rye is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey bottled at natural barrel proof, without dilution, in a 75cl bottle. The strength varies from barrel to barrel, typically between 54 and 55.4% ABV. It is made at Michter's in Louisville from a rye grain mash, distilled in copper pot stills and matured in heat-cycled warehouses. It is a limited release, bottled when suitable barrels are identified rather than on a fixed schedule. Butterscotch, golden raisins and vanilla lead the nose. The palate brings morning toast, maple syrup, fresh fruit and warm rye grain, and the finish is long and spicy with mint, cinnamon and honey.
