Bomberger's Declaration is an annual Kentucky straight bourbon from Michter's, made in Louisville. The name honours a distillery that ran in the 1800s and later became Michter's in Pennsylvania. The 2025 release comes in a 70cl bottle at 108 proof (54%).
This year's release uses Chinquapin oak, with staves air dried and seasoned for anywhere from 18 months to five years, far longer than usual.
The nose has bright fruit, roasted nuts and salted caramel, with dark chocolate and oak beneath. The palate moves from floral, jammy sweetness to chocolate and baking spice. The finish is long and rich.
