Michter's – Shenk's Homestead Sour Mash Whiskey 2025 Release (70cl, 45.6%)

Shenk's Homestead is a limited-edition American sour mash whiskey from Michter's, named for John Shenk, whose 18th-century Pennsylvania distillery grew into Michter's. It is produced in Kentucky by the sour mash process with a generous helping of rye, and bottled at 45.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The 2025 edition matures in toasted-only French oak from the Vosges region, with staves air-dried and seasoned for two years before toasting. The nose offers warming spices, dried herbs and toasted oak. The palate is smooth and medium-bodied, with creme caramel, soft vanilla and layered oak, and the finish is long and warming with a gentle spice.
