Michter's – US*1 Single Barrel Straight Rye (75cl, 42.4%)

This is a single barrel straight rye from Michter's of Kentucky, bottled at 42.4% in a 75cl bottle. The distillery traces its roots to 1753. The mashbill is rye with smaller portions of corn and malted barley, and the rye content is above the required 51%. The whisky was aged for a minimum of four years in new, charred American white oak barrels, with each bottle coming from one selected barrel. The nose offers butterscotch, fresh-cut hay, vanilla, oak and baking spices with citrus zest. The palate is full-bodied, with peppery rye, cinnamon, nutmeg, orange peel, caramel and toasted oak. The finish is warm, with spice, vanilla, dry oak and a hint of cocoa.
