Michter's – US*1 Small Batch American Whiskey (41.7%)

This is a small batch American whiskey from Michter's, part of the US*1 line and bottled at 41.7% without an age statement. Its mash bill is undisclosed, and it is neither a straight bourbon nor a straight rye. It is aged using the 'Chop Barrel' method, in new American white oak barrels whose staves were air-dried for at least 18 months, then heavily toasted and lightly charred. The colour is a rich, medium amber. The nose is sweet, with dried fruit, butterscotch and vanilla. The palate is full-bodied and soft, with caramel, vanilla, dried apricot, toffee and cinnamon. The finish is clean, with sweet oak and gentle brown sugar.
