Michter's US*1 Unblended American Whiskey is an American whiskey from Kentucky, bottled at 41.7% (83.4 proof) in a 75cl bottle. Unlike bourbon or rye, which by definition must be aged in new oak barrels, it is aged in whiskey-soaked barrels.
Michter's re-released it in late 2013, after an absence from the market of nearly three years. Then Master Distiller Willie Pratt chose to bring it back, judging it the best it had ever been.
