A Milburn Highland malt from 1966, 16 years old, with a full amber colour.
The nose opens on orange, beeswax and honey, with wood smoke and old furniture, then turns minty, nutty and toasty. On the palate it is quite dry, with cocoa powder, cinnamon and coffee, and the sherry character of a dry oloroso sits alongside old walnuts and a hint of blackberry jelly.
The finish is long, on coffee, chocolate and jam, perhaps blackcurrant.
