This is a five-year-old single malt from Zuidam Distillers in the Netherlands, released under the Millstone name in 2015. It was distilled in 2009 and is lightly peated, in a 70cl bottle at 40% ABV.
Maturation took place in Bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, with American oak noted on the label.
On the nose, light fading smoke sits alongside ripe apples and medicinal peat. The palate moves from ripe apple to raw apple, spicy and fruity, with hints of vanilla and peat pushing at the back. The finish brings citrus, light tar and some dry oak.
