Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt (70cl, 40%)

Monkey Shoulder is a blended malt whisky from William Grant & Sons, first introduced in 2005 and bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It began as a marriage of three single malts from the company's Speyside distilleries: Glenfiddich, Balvenie and Kininvie. Some batches today may also include whisky from Ailsa Bay, the company's Lowland distillery. The name refers to a condition maltmen could pick up from turning barley by hand, which left an arm hanging down a little like a monkey's. It is a well-rounded malt with balanced sweetness.
