Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 40%)

Monkey Shoulder is a blended malt Scotch whisky at 40%, in a 70cl bottle. It contains no grain whisky and is vatted from three Speyside single malts, traditionally Glenfiddich, Balvenie and Kininvie, matured in first-fill ex-Bourbon casks. The name nods to maltings workers who once picked up a temporary deformity of the shoulder from turning barley by hand. The nose offers marmalade, cocoa and malt, with vanilla and a little cinnamon. The palate is silky, with creamy vanilla, butterscotch and apricot over a light touch of oak. The finish is medium and smooth, with lasting sweetness and peppermint.
