A red wine from Umbria made from Sangiovese, Sagrantino and Merlot. It shows an intense, deep ruby colour.
The nose has complex notes of ripe red fruits such as cherries and plums, sweet spices and a light touch of vanilla from ageing in oak barriques. On the palate it is balanced and well structured, with soft but present tannins and long aromatic persistence.
It suits grilled red meats, game and aged cheeses, and benefits from a few minutes of decanting before serving.
