Leapfrog 33 Year Old is an Islay single malt from Murray McDavid's Mission Gold series. It was distilled in 1992 and matured in a Bourbon barrel, then bottled in 2026 at 50.3% ABV. Only 243 bottles were filled, without chill-filtering or added colour.
The nose combines fresh lemon peel, salty coastal air and soft chimney smoke, with a light sweetness of pear drops. On the palate it is velvety and powerful, with smoked barley and deep peat before a spicy cigar box note appears. The finish is long, with maritime touches, apple pastry and a gentle smoke that fades slowly.
