Murray McDavid The Vatting The Speysiders 2009 (46%)

This is the third batch of The Vatting from Murray McDavid, a blended malt made by marrying four casks from Speyside. Two are first fill bourbon casks of Linkwood and Glenlossie, and two are sherry hogsheads of Craigellachie and Miltonduff. The vatting was finished in Ximenez-Spinola PX sherry and bottled in 2021 at 46% ABV. The youngest whisky in it is 11 years old. The nose is fruity, with nuts, chocolate, mocha and spice. The palate brings flapjack and chocolate raisins, creamy with malt, and the finish has rum and raisin fudge, mixed nuts and a hint of latte.
