Whisky from a number of countries was blended and then matured in a Pedro Ximenez sherry butt. Amahagan is the name Nagahama uses for its World series. The distillery was founded in 2016 on the shores of Lake Biwa and is run by Nagahama Roman Beer, who have brewed since 1996.
The sherry butt is described as giving rich, fruity notes to a smooth spirit.
