Nc'nean Organic Single Malt is made from unpeated Scottish organic barley at the Nc'nean distillery on the Morvern peninsula. It is matured in bourbon, specially treated red wine and Oloroso sherry casks, and bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The citrus and peach notes come from the new make itself, while the STR red wine casks add spice and the cask mix adds body and sweetness. This 2023 bottling numbers 9,687 bottles. The whisky is natural colour and non-chill-filtered.
The nose recalls lemonade, with juicy apricot and white peach. On the palate come waxy lemon zest, chilli heat, vanilla ice cream and pickled mandarin. The finish is long and spicy.
