New Riff Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Rye is made at New Riff Distilling in Newport, Kentucky, a distillery founded in 2014 on the banks of the Ohio River.
The mashbill is 95% rye and 5% malted rye. The whiskey is aged for four years in full-size 53-gallon barrels of toasted and charred new oak, then bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) without chill filtration, in line with the Bottled-in-Bond standard.
The all-rye recipe gives a full-bodied whiskey with a decidedly spicy flavour profile.
