Nikka 15 Year Old Sendai From The Barrel Cask Room Limited Edition (2015) (50cl, 51.4%)

This is a 15 year old special edition of Nikka From The Barrel, the Japanese blended whisky first released in 1985. It is bottled at 51.4% ABV in a 50cl bottle. Nikka From The Barrel is made by blending more than 100 batches of malt and grain whiskies from the Miyagikyo and Yoichi distilleries. The blend then rests for several months in used barrels so the flavours can marry before bottling. It comes in the brand's square bottle. The nose is complex, with cut flowers, fresh fruit, a hint of oak and a medium-bodied sweetness. On the palate come winter spice, toffee, caramel, vanilla and plenty of fruit. The finish is long and warming, with fruit and lingering oaky spice.
