Nikka Coffey Malt Japanese Whisky (70cl, 45%)

Nikka Coffey Malt is a Japanese whisky produced at the Miyagikyo Distillery, in a 70cl bottle at 45% abv. Nikka Whisky was established in 1934 by Masataka Taketsuru. It is made from 100% malted barley but distilled in Coffey stills, which are typically reserved for grain whisky, rather than in pot stills. The colour is a vibrant gold to amber. The nose is lively, with fresh lemon, pear and banana, cinnamon, vanilla and milk chocolate. The palate is dense and silky, with toffee, golden syrup and brioche against nutmeg and clove. The finish is long and creamy, with rich oak, tobacco and mild chocolate.
