Nikka Days (70cl, 40%)

Nikka Days is a blended whisky from the Japanese house of Nikka, in a 70cl bottle at 40%. It combines mild grain whisky with lightly peated malts. Coffey grain whisky and unpeated Miyagikyo malts form the base, with Coffey malt whisky and Yoichi malts adding sweetness and body. It does not meet every criterion of the Japan Spirits & Liqueur Makers Association for the term Japanese whisky. It is made to be drunk neat, over ice, as a highball with soda water or in cocktails. The nose is fresh, fruity and floral, with pear, citrus and orange blossom. The palate is soft and creamy, with malt, toffee, roasted nuts and vanilla, and a little peat mid-palate. Dried apricot, malt and vanilla linger in the finish.
