Nikka Miyagikyo 10 Year Old (70cl, 45%)

Miyagikyo 10 Year Old is a Nikka single malt from the Sendai distillery in Miyagi Prefecture, founded in 1969 by Masataka Taketsuru. It is bottled at 45% ABV in a 70cl bottle, and returns after a decade-long absence in a new interpretation. It is made from whiskies aged for at least ten years and shows the distillery's fruit-forward style, with orchard and citrus notes, gentle malt sweetness and soft vanilla. The new label is textured washi paper, shifting from pink to deep forest green. Tasting notes describe tropical fruit, including pineapple and mango, on the nose, vanilla, baking spices and cloves on the palate, and an elegant caramel finish.
