Nikka Miyagikyo Aromatic Yeast 2022 Single Malt (70cl, 47%)

Miyagikyo Aromatic Yeast is a limited-edition single malt released in 2022 as part of Nikka's Discovery Series. It is bottled at 47% ABV in a 70cl bottle, with an outturn of 4800. The whisky is built around a special yeast strain that gives a fragrant, estery character likened to ginjo sake, and it is meant to show the fruity, elegant house style of the Miyagikyo distillery in Miyagi. The nose offers rose water, coconut, stone fruits and vanilla. On the palate come fresh croissants, apple blossom, creamy custard and a whisper of tropical spice. The finish is clean and floral, with cherry blossom and chamomile.
