This is a Miyagikyo single malt from Nikka, bottled at 46% ABV and released in 2017 in a run of just 500 bottles. The whisky spent its final year of maturation in a Moscatel wood cask. Moscatel is a Portuguese fortified wine made from sweet muscat grapes. On the nose, fresh muscat grapes and oak come first, followed by fresh summer fruits, rich raisins and a little sandalwood. The finish is long and satisfying.
