Nikka Tailored (70cl, 43%)

Nikka Tailored is a Japanese blended whisky, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. Malt whiskies from Yoichi and Miyagikyo make up most of the blend, joined by grain whisky from traditional Coffey stills. The whiskies mature mainly in American oak and former sherry casks. It is chill-filtered and has added colour. Its character rests on the contrast between sweet pastry notes and fruity bitterness. The nose is soft and round, with apple, apricot, honey, chocolate and candied orange peel. The palate is creamy, with vanilla and Gugelhupf set against dark chocolate and mandarin and orange peel. Lightly toasted notes balance the bitterness in the finish.
