Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt

Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt is a Japanese blended malt, a vatting of malt whiskies from several distilleries. It is named in honour of Masataka Taketsuru, Nikka's founder. Taketsuru was the first Japanese to master whisky-making in Scotland and bring that knowledge back to Japan. The blend is a tribute from his successors, built on the precise blending he handed down. The nose offers grassy malt, earthy vanilla, toasted coconut and barbecued pineapple. On the palate there is more vanilla with a floral touch, salted butter on toasted teacakes, ripe pear and peach. The finish carries lingering peat smoke and gentle baking spice.
