Nikka Yoichi 10 Year Old is a Japanese single malt from Nikka's first distillery, Yoichi, on the coast of Hokkaido. It is bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle.
The distillery uses direct coal-fired distillation, and this expression has matured for ten years. It is lightly peated and smoky, with a coastal character.
The nose brings sea breeze, soft smoke and yuzu-like citrus, with apple, banana, vanilla and honey. The palate shows woody spice and creamy malt, and the finish is long, dry and lightly smoky, with oak and a salty edge.
