Nikka Yoichi – 50 Year Old (1969–2019) 50th Anniversary of the Miyagikyo Distillery (70cl, 48%)

This is a 50 year old Japanese single malt from Nikka, released for the 50th anniversary of the Miyagikyo Distillery. It is bottled at 48% ABV in a 70cl bottle and comes in a box. The whisky was put together from a selection of casks that matured over five decades. It is described as smoky and peaty, with an elegant fruitiness and a subtle spiciness. On the palate come peat, citrus fruit, spice and a touch of oak, followed by a long finish.
