Nikka Yoichi Non Aged (70cl, 45%)

A single malt Japanese whisky from Nikka, distilled and matured at the Yoichi distillery in Hokkaido. It is bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle. Yoichi expressions each differ from one another, and this one is regarded as well balanced and full of personality. The colour is golden copper. The nose opens with fruit and pastry, then oak and warm spices, with a slight peatiness developing later. The palate is lively and fresh, with more pepper, nutshell notes and peat returning a little stronger. The finish is salty and oaky, with a well contained woodiness.
