Noble Oak Double Oak Rye is an American rye whiskey in a 75cl bottle at 48% ABV. The mashbill is 95% rye and 5% malted barley, distilled in Indiana and matured for at least two years in charred new American white oak.
It then goes through a compression finishing process, which applies repeated cycles of heat and pressure, and is finished with port wine staves from Portugal. The brand is based in Newtown, Ohio.
Toffee and toasted almonds open the nose, with oak, caramel, allspice and dark cherries. The palate moves from brown sugar and maple syrup to green pepper, dried currants, figs and clove. The finish is long and dry, with cloves, char and leather.
