Nonino Monovitigno Moscato Grappa (37.5cl, 41%)

This is a single-varietal grappa from Nonino, distilled from Moscato pomace in a 37.5cl bottle. The family has made it in Percoto, in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, since 1973, when Benito Nonino first distilled the pomace of a single grape variety separately rather than a blend of many. The pomace is fermented fresh, while still moist with the grape's own juice, then distilled in copper stills with the heads and tails cut away. Moscato was chosen for its pronounced aroma, and the grappa keeps that character intact. It is elegant and aromatic, soft and sensual, with roses, sage, orange blossom and vanilla.
