North Star 12 Year Old Ardbeg 2005 (51.9%)

This is a 12 year old Ardbeg bottled by the independent company North Star. The spirit was distilled in March 2005 and bottled in February 2018 at 51.9% ABV, in a run of 332 bottles. North Star works in small batches and bottles at cask strength. This one is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The nose is sharp peat with pineapple. On the palate there is salted smoke alongside dark sherry, and the finish is slightly sweet with spicy notes.
