Islay Connection is a ten-year-old blended malt from North Star Spirits, in a 70cl bottle. It brings together Bowmore, Bruichladdich and other Islay malts matured in bourbon and refill sherry casks. The age follows the youngest part of the blend, which was distilled in 2015, and the whisky was bottled in 2026. It belongs to The Connection Series.
It is bottled at 50.4%, non-chill-filtered and with no added colour.
Coastal smoke leads the nose, with bonfire embers, smouldering peat, sea spray and iodine. The palate is smoky and earthy, with ash, salted caramel, black pepper and smoked almonds. The finish is long, warm and dry, with sea salt, oak spice and clove.
