This is a Tasmanian blended malt, a vatted malt made from whisky from several Tasmanian distilleries. Batch #1 is bottled for Dark Valley, an Australian independent bottler, at 45% ABV in a 50cl bottle.
The whisky was matured in ex-Bourbon, ex-Sherry, ex-Port and ex-Red Wine barrels.
The nose has stewed orchard fruits, mainly peach and nectarine, with vanilla pod, toasted fig, polished oak and raspberry jam. The palate shows cherries and plums, dark chocolate, almond meal and deep oak. The finish is long, with cocoa, cherry jam and spicy oak.
